I mean, they are an alien for fucks sake lol. Was it a really rude reaction? Definitely, but would I say transphobic? No, not really. I think that him slapping their hand was added as a shock factor, to show how much he was caught off guard and realising that Rin isn't what he expected them to be. Not only that, but it's clearly stated that both of them along w everyone else view it as a gay relationship. Its stated by Rin that they are a crossdressing guy, not a trans woman like Erica, but everyone refers to them as "she" because of how well they pass (I personally think they/them pronouns fit them best but that's me). I've read around about what others thought and was genuinely surprised that people found Vincent's reaction transphobic. My favourite endings are Rin's and Catherine's true ending, but I share the same criticism as you when it comes to Rin. Sorry for my long and kinda messy ramblings, would love to hear your thoughts. If I had to recommend either game to a completely new player I'd go with Classic 100%, even tho I feel like Full Body is still very much worth experiencing for veterans. The original doesn't have online but let's just be honest, neither does Full Body. There's also some minor stuff like in the original the sexy pics Catherine sends you changes based on have many endings you have gotten/ how many times you have cleared the game. Compared to the original I had no idea until the Boss encounter I just mentioned and I feel like it removes a huge part of the game, relating to these characters and believing that it actually was a 'real' story about this young mans struggles. In the original game the story was very much grounded in reality (yeah I know, the nightmares) until it was revealed that Boss was the one controlling the nightmares but it felt believable and the story was clearly building up to it, slowly showing us hints that there might be more going on than we originally thought.Īlso something that gets ignored a lot is the very first cutscene in the game, in Full Body you realize right away that it's a supernatural story when Rin is being chased by these giants (his brothers) on the streets. I thought it was cool when it was revealed that Rin was some kind of angel/ higher being but after seeing the Rin True ending I don't even know what to feel anymore, I personally thought it went WAY too far, to almost levels of parody. I like Rin as a character alot, he/ it/ whatever adds a nice kind of 'support system' to the game when Vincent is going through all this stuff but the Rin route from Night 6(?) onwards just completely derails the game and it doesn't fit at all with the rest of the story. I realized late that this changes the context a bit, and makes it sound as if they are answering each question individually rather than just the “mysterious lights” question. After doing everything possible related to Rin and comparing it to the original I started to feel this way. It was a bit difficult to put into English, thus our initial simplified translation. (We received about 10 more of the same question.)”
